BIENNIAL OF VENICE
Katia Smutniak will be the godmother of the sixty-ninth Venice International Film Festival, from August 29 to September 8, the classic Biennale. “The reluctant fundamentalist” by Mira Nair with Kate Hudson will open the event, while the Italian films competing for the gold lion are the “Sleeping Beauty” by Bellocchio, “It was the son” by Ciprì and “Special day” by Francesca Comencini. Great expectations for “To the wonder” by Malik with Ben Affleck and for “The company you keep” by Robert Redford. There also is a mix of cinema and music in Spike Lee’s documentary on “Bad” by Michael Jackson and a video of Jonathan Demme about the Neapolitan musician Enzo Avitabile. At the Lido of Venice are expected, among others, Zac Efron, Pierce Brosnan and Laetitia Casta as juror.
