Brain during Sexual Intercourse

What does happen in the mind of a woman during a sexual intercourse?

In addition to cinema and literature suppositions, we now have a scientific answer thanks to a research of Rutgers University (New Jersey).
To unravel the mystery, the scientists scanned the brains of some women while having sex, and found that during the orgasm, up to 30 different parts of the ‘grey matter’ are activated. Included those responsible for emotion, touch, joy and memory.
A ‘mix’ that, after the intercourse, make women more likely to fall in love with the partner than men.
The scientists also found that two minutes before reaching orgasm, the same areas that ordinarily work when we eat or drink also is affected in the brain.
“Just before women reach the apex – the study says – even other areas of the brain are affected by strong ‘vibrations’ due to the arousal, such as the sensory cortex”. This brings the nervous system to become dull to the point that no pain but only pleasure is felt.
The last part to become active is the hypothalamus – as scientists say on an article published on the British newspaper the ‘Daily Mail’ love-on-brain-111610the area delegated to the ‘control’, but at this point, woman has already been conquered. This study gives us now the scientific reason why women need cuddles and look more loving after the sexual act.
The key hormone “oxytocin” released during sex is also known as the ‘cuddle hormone’. This lowers our defences and makes us trust people more, says Dr Arun Ghosh, a GP specialising in sexual health at the Spire Liverpool Hospital. It’s also the key to bonding, as it increases levels of empathy. Women produce more of this hormone, although it’s not clear why, and this means they are more likely to let their guard down and fall in love with a man after sex.
For women especially – the mind plays a key role in achieving orgasm. The key to female arousal seems to be deep relaxation and a lack of anxiety. For men, instead, the intercourse and the orgasm leads the nervous system to produce more dopamine, the pleasure hormone, and this surge even can be addictive. This is the mainly reason of man’s urge in searching sex.
Funny! I’m sorry people! All that , let me summarize that – for women sex is mental, for men an addictive need.
The next challenge for researchers is to map the brain of the men, always at the most ‘hot’ times. But, in this case I guess that the hypothalamus just will be the first brain’s area to work…..
